Are House Churches in the Bible?

House Church ~ Simple Church ~ … Where can we find them in the Bible?

14 Our dear friend Luke, the doctor, and Demas send greetings. 15 Give my greetings to the brothers and sisters at Laodicea, and to Nympha and the church in her house. ~Colossians 4: 14-15

Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus, and Timothy our brother, To Philemon our dear friend and fellow worker— also to Apphia our sister and Archippus our fellow soldier—and to the church that meets in your homeGrace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. ~Philemon 1:1-3

Greet Priscilla and Aquila, my co-workers in Christ Jesus. They risked their lives for me. Not only I but all the churches of the Gentiles are grateful to them. Greet also the church that meets at their house. ~Romans 16:3-5

Trusting in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord – Salvation – “I am Saved”

The Bible says we are all sinners in need of a Savior…

Romans 3:10 – “There is no one righteous, not even one.”

Romans 3:23 – “…for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

Jesus is the Son of God – The Messiah – who came to earth to testify to Truth and to save us from sin and death…

Romans 6:23 – “for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Romans 5: 6-8 – “you see, at just the right time, when we are still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

1 Corinthians 15: 3-5 – “…Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the scriptures, and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve.”

Romans 10: 9-10 – “that if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.”

Jesus is the way to find peace with God. It is ONLY through belief in Jesus as savior and lord that we are saved from the penalty of sin and death. Do you have peace with God. Is Jesus your Lord (leader) and Savior?

Ephesians 2:8 – “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and not from yourselves, it is a gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.”

Where are you?

Will you trust in Jesus Christ as your lord (leader) and savior? If so please pray this prayer from your heart…

Prayer:   God, I know I am a sinner and I need you to save me. Forgive me for the sins I have done. Jesus I believe that you died and rose again to save me from sin and death. Jesus be lord and leader of my life! Show me the right way to live! Fill me with the Holy Spirit! Amen.
